Our latest Speak Easy on February 11 featured students from Jennifer Kircher Carr’s Fall 2017 Short Story Intensive class over at Writers & Books. We enjoy partnering with our friends at Writers & Books whenever we get the chance, so after Jennifer read on our stage in November, we approached her with the idea of bringing one of her classes by to read. She graciously agreed, and based on the talent that was on display on Sunday, we hope this is the start of a regular event.
Alongside Jennifer and the five first-time readers from her class, we also had a sixth first-time reader and a couple familiar faces. Happily, we kept our streak going with a last-minute sellout, and it was obvious from the strong applause following each of our readers, the audience enjoyed what they heard.
Next Up: Winter won’t be over, but things will be heating up at Cheshire on March 11 as we host another open-topic Speak Easy. Come hear our collection of writers share their short works while you sip a delicious hand-crafted cocktail. Tickets are available here.
