Rochester Spoken Word 2020 Events Announced

We’ve got a lot of great readings planned for 2020! We hope you’ll participate from our stage and/or in our audience.

1/12  Speak Easy Birthday Party – Come celebrate our 3rd Birthday and the beginning of our 4th year with some of our favorite readers from 2019. There’ll be prizes, hats, and cake!
2/9  Speak Easy: Open Topic — The event we’re known for! Ten local writers read their short prose and poetry.
3/8  Speak Easy: Open Topic
4/2  Listening to the Future – Come out and hear young writers read their works. Our 4th annual event for high school students! (At Writers & Books).
4/19  Short Story Contest Selections – Entrants from our first-ever short story contest will read their works.
5/10  Stories without a Net – Live storytelling (a la The Moth). No reading!
6/7  Stories with Cocktails – Come celebrate the cocktail! Part of the Rochester Cocktail Revival.
9/13  Speak Easy: Open Topic
10/11  Speak Easy: Open Topic
11/8  Write Like Your Favorite Author – Hear original works in the style of influential writers.
12/13  Speak Easy: Open Topic

Tickets are available online usually two months before a show. You can also save some money by buying a multi-show pass in our shop! And as always, if you’d like to share your work, we hope you’ll sign up to read!
