Speak Easy is a Warm Spot on a Winter Day

Scott Seifritz Readings, Speak Easy, Uncategorized

It may have been cold outside, but the energy in Cheshire on February 10th kept everyone warm. Our second Speak Easy of the year brought a balance of poetry and prose as 10 local writers shared their work — with six of them visiting our stage for the first time! We had published authors and people just starting out, and like all our open-topic events, things got exciting at times. All-in-all, it was a fun day featuring some great writing.

Next Up: Join us Sunday March 10 at 1:00 pm for our first-ever live storytelling event! No notes, no tablets, nothing written at all! It’s a celebration of the art of storytelling. Get your tickets before they’re gone!

Line up for Speak Easy No. 26, Sunday 2/10/2019 at Cheshire:

Excerpt from Island Chains — Patti Lavell
Mother Listen — Marissa DiVincenzo
A Family History: Pedigree Unstoppable — Evvy Fanning
The Editor at the Tea Shoppe — Reilly Hirst
Untitled — breven ‽
Excerpt from Gavin Goode — David B. Seaburn
Before — Jennifer Maloney
Contemplative Standstill — Rob Currie
Ghosted — Scott Seifritz
— Matthew “Honest E. Illycit” Van Scott

Special thanks to Scott Seifritz and David Holloway for photography and Noor Lima-Boudakian for keeping the corn popping.
