Speak Easy Keeps Things Fresh

Scott Seifritz Uncategorized

The kids may be back to school and summer is fading away, but Speak Easy is going as strong as ever. At our show on September 16 at Cheshire — our 21st show! — we welcomed nine readers to the stage, including five first-timers and two second-timers. It’s equally a pleasure for us to have writers share their work with us for the first time as it is to have them come back to share more. We had some both poetry and prose this month, and plenty of laughs to go around. Check out the pictures below.

Next Up: We kick off Autumn with an Open Topic Speak Easy on October 14. Come enjoy a cocktail and some great local writing before the stress of the holiday season kicks in! Tickets are available here. Get them before they’re gone!

Lineup for Speak Easy No. 21, Sunday 9/16/2018, at Cheshire:
Stubborn Resolution: Gutsy Grit — Jaclyn A. Sutherland
Atlas — Matthew Del Favero
Leviticus — Emily Tworek
This is Me; Deal with It — Faith Jackson
I Learned Everything I Need to Know About Sex and Household Cleaners from My Cleaning Guy — Diane Zielinski
The Best Medicine — Scott Seifritz
Series of Childhood Reflections — Joel Lesses
In Another Time, in a Stack of Hay — Evvy Fanning
The Hitch Hiker — Rick Merritt
